What to do if your mobile is stolen ?

August 18, 2009

Nowadays there are many mobile stolen nearby so i decided to inform u to take the required steps if your mobile is stolen.

* Go to your nearest police station, lodge a complaint regarding that your mobile as been stolen, and i want to apply for a duplicate Sim.

* You must have your mobile phone bill while newly purchased (why i am saying so is ,around 75% of the people does not know the importance of IMEI number of the mobile phone.

[ Keep in mind the bill is the one and only proof that you are the owner of that respective mobile phone,So please demand bill while purchasing or even you are purchasing old mobile phones ].

[ The IMEI or International Mobile Equipment Identity (pronounced /aɪˈmiː/) is a number unique to every GSM and WCDMA and iDEN mobile phone, as well as some satellite phones. It is usually found printed inside the battery compartment of the phone. It can also be displayed on the screen of the phone by entering *#06# into the keypad.

The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid/working devices and therefore can be used to stop a stolen phone from accessing the network. For example, If a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call his or her network provider and instruct them to "ban" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless, whether or not the phone's SIM is changed.]

*Go to your nearest network service provider and apply for a new duplicate sim with copy of police complaint and request letter saying that to BAN the mobile and mention the IMEI number in that request letter.

"Monitor your website " because your site is down

August 18, 2009

I came across a site yesterday called InternetUptimeMonitor.com and found it really interesting. Why? Because they watch your web site from a network of servers all over the world. When your site goes down they email you. Pretty simple but effective. They also record how fast it takes your site to load and give you a nice chart showing you fast and slow times throughout the day.

If you have a site (or blog) of your own Iwould recommend at least signing up for their free account. Then you can have the piece of mind that comes with knowing if your site goes down you will get an email letting you know.

Their free account watches your site once per hour. This is perfectly fine for people with a site that is not earning them a lot of money or getting a lot of traffic. Their Business (gold) account has a 5-minute service level guarantee meaning they guarantee you will get a notification if your site is down within 5 minutes. There are a bunch of extras with these accounts like cell phone text-message alerts, monitoring more than one site, and more.

So when you should consider a business account? When you have a site that is earning you money of course! Think about it, if you have a site that is making you good money it is costing you money every minute its down. And no web hosting company or data center will offer you 100% uptime because it is not possible. So it is not a matter of IF you site goes down, it is only a matter of time of WHEN it goes down.

Even if you just want the free monitoring account use the link above so you can get your discount if you ever decide to upgrade.

Everybody is website goes down at one point or another. Why not be prepared ahead of time so you will at least know there is a problem.

They gave me a special link to pass on to my readers that will give you 65% off the retail price of their premier Business Monitoring Package. You can take advantage of it by clicking the link below:
